The Iwaki plant has been substantially restructured as a world-class manufacturing plant and operates on the core concepts of creating a flexible assembly line where people and robots can coexist, a newly enhanced clean, silent, and ergonomic operational working environment, and zero-defect assembly.
The VR engine (3.0L V6 twin turbo) installed in the phenomenal Skyline 400R is produced on this very same line. This engine offers sharp response and superior fuel economy along with quiet idling and the high level of refinement befitting a premium sports sedan. The Iwaki plant also offers factory tours to around 10,000 visitors each year.
