Our previous company head was engaged in boat manufacturing inthe early days of the yacht industry, when FRP was first imported into Japan. Since then, our company has created a wide range of products which utilize FRP’s excellent qualities simultaneously with advanced construction techniques. Our company continues to pass on techniques in hand lay-up methods (molding method in which GFRP sheets are manually laminated to a specific thickness along a mold) as experts in the FRP industry grow fewer in number. This is a highly technical skill, as air bubbles, which impact strength, are removed using brushes or special rollers as the product is molded. In recent years, there is high demand for such products in storage tanks, reaction tanks, and piping in chemical plants,where corrosion resistance is a must.
Development of products utilizing FRP’s traits for radiation protection equipment in decommissioning work. With the decreasing number of RP hand lay-up experts, we are also considering passing on our skills in an attempt to make contributions to the fields of energy, the environment, and recycling.
